Introduction of the voltage transformer

     Voltage transformer and transformer alike, are used to transformthe voltage on the line. But the transformer voltage is designed todeliver power, therefore, large capacity, is generally based onKVA or MVA as the calculating unit; and the voltage transformer totransform voltage, is mainly used to supply power to themeasuring and relay protection device, used to measure line voltage, power and energy, or to precious equipment, circuitprotection when line fault when motor and transformer, so the voltage transformer capacity is very small, generally only a fewvoltammetry, dozens of voltammetry, the maximum not more than one thousand volt ampere.

     Why need to transform the voltage on the line? This is because,according to the power generation, transmission and use differentelectric voltage on the line, not one, but the difference between220V and 380V, and some are low, some tens of thousands of volts or even hundreds of thousands of volts of high voltage. Todirectly measure the low voltage and high voltage, need according to the line voltage, the production of the corresponding low and high voltage meter and other instruments and relays. This will not only bring great difficulties to the instrument making, but more importantly, to direct production pressure meter, measuring voltage directly on the high-pressure line, it is not possible, and it is absolutely not allowed.

     The basic structure and transformer voltage transformer is very similar, it also has two windings, a primary winding, a twowinding. The two windings are installed on or around the core.There are two windings and insulation between the winding and core, made between two windings and the winding and core areelectrical isolation. Voltage transformer in operation, a primary winding N1 and join the online way, two secondary windings N2and join the instrument or relay. So the voltage in themeasurement of high pressure on the line, although a very high voltage, but the two is low, can ensure that the operating personnel and instrument security.
